Explore The Area

Location

Riviera Maya is the area south of Cancun situated on the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. The Hard Rock is located on the north end of Puerto Aventuras- 55 minutes south of Cancun International Airport, 40 minutes north of Tulum, and 25 minutes south of Playa del Carmen.

Currency

The local currency is Mexican Pesos. Many shops and restaurants in the area will accept US Dollars; however you may end up paying a bit more so it's important to check the exchange rate before you buy. When using Dollars, expect your change to be returned in Pesos.

There is an ATM in each lobby that dispenses Pesos. You can exchange Dollars to Pesos at the Front Desk, just make sure you have your Passport with you. Pro Tip: Check the current exchange rate before you arrive and come prepared!

Transportation

Taxis are readily available, just let the bellman know where you wish to go. There are signs posted with fixed rates to nearby towns or you can negotiate a rate to almost anywhere else you want. Prefer to explore on your own? You can rent a car by visiting the rental desk in either lobby. There is free parking for hotel guests on resort property.
